2009 FLOW Tour Event #4 Adrenalina Miami Re-Cap

RAIN FLOODS MIAMI WHILE THE TOP RIDERS IN THE COUNTRY GATHER TOGETHER AT ADRENALINA FOR THE 4TH STOP OF THE  FLOW TOUR

While the weather outside was frightful, the indoor action at Adrenalina was nothing short of pure Adrenalina excitement!  Saturday, June 6th marked the 4th stop of the 16 stop 2009 Wave Loch FLOW Tour. The event drew close to 40 entries in 8 divisions and definitely lived up to its competitive reputation, as Florida continues to produce many of the country’s most talented riders. It was no surprise that the level of riding was blowing spectators away.adrenalina

As Adrenalina stores prove to be the breeding ground for the country’s top flowboarders, the turnout for the amateur division was packed with new up and comers. Andre Ferrari sailed into first place, but not with ease as Nico Rebaza was snapping at his heels the whole way. Both riders represent the Adrenalina stores in their different locations and they were battling it out by throwing trick for trick. In the end it was Andre’s clean, smooth and consistent runs that shot him into first place. This did not discourage Nico as he managed to take first place in the masters division.

The expert bodyboard division was jam packed with talent. Riders from all over Florida and even as far as Texas battled it out to get that first place check of $265. Nick Nguyen has proven to be one of the top contenders for the national champion spot as he has competed in every event on the tour to date, showing his determination to win that grand prize trip to Singapore. Nick’s smooth and consistent riding has been the common denominator at every event and his diverse bag of tricks includes everything from drop knee 360 shuvits into the switch stance, to clean effortless carves at any point on the wave. It was no surprise that Nick sprinted in front of the pack to first place.

The expert flowboard division at Adrenalina was the most competitive we have seen on the tour so far. All four finalists were bringing it to the table with tricks such as 360 varial kickflips, 720 shuvits and 720 big spins. But in the end it was Sean Silveira’s consistent effortless riding with flawless execution of  some of the most technical tricks in the sport today that earned him that $400 top prize.

Not only was this the 4th event of the Wave Loch FLOW Tour, but it marked the first event of three being held at the Adrenalina stores. The next event will be held at Adrenalina Tampa which is one of their newest stores, and if the talent there is anything like the last one, we look forward to another great competition. GL
