Two Flow Tour stops in the Poconos at Split Rock & Camelbeach will wrap up the season for the National Championships.
From August 11th to the 14th, both professional & amateur riders will descend on the Pocono Mountains to participate in two back to back competitions being held at Split Rock’s H2Oooohh Indoor Waterpark and Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark. Competitors from throughout the United States converge on the Poconos this week for a total of three days of competition. Over 75 competitors are expected.
The FLOW Tour has divisions for bodyboarders and flowboarders, men and women, boys and girls, amateur and professional, young and old. For the past ten years, the FLOW Tour has traveled to many of the 55+ Flowrider locations throughout the United States and has inspired an ever-expanding level of competition among bodyboarders and flowboarders around the United States – and it all comes to a head on the FLOW Tour.
The revamped and revitalized 2011 US FLOW Tour kicked off in Ohio at the Kalahari Resort on their FlowRider ® Double on April 9th. There were four brand new stops this year; Fantasy Surf in Kissimmee Florida on April 30th, Lindon Water Park in Utah on July 22nd, Provo Beach Resort in Provo Utah on July 23rd, and Flow House New Jersey on the Jersey Shore, on July 30th. After 12 stops, the U.S. Tour ends in the Poconos for a stop at Split Rock’s H2Oooohh Indoor Waterpark; and then to Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark on August 13th and 14th for the US FLOW Tour National Championships to complete the season. With thirteen AA events and the AAA championships, competitors will vie for over $35,000 in cash and thousands more in prizes. A couple of new twists to the tour include an updated point system, adjusted points for season ending totals, new scoring sheets and judging system, and 2 stops with two events in the same area to make it easier on the travelers. This year’s tour sponsors currently include Wave Loch, Versa Traction, Victory, Deuce Brand, WCB; as well as local sponsors. As usual, Wave Loch will reward the top Expert Stand Up, Expert Bodyboard and Top Female Stand Up with a trip to the Flow Championships.
Wave House Durban South Africa will host the 2011 FLOW (Flowriding League of the World) Championships. This year’s FLOW Championships will be held October 5th – October 9th and will draw the world’s best flowriders from the US, Chile, Singapore, Dubai, UK and various other countries. As the sport continues to grow and the riders continue to push each other to new heights, the demand to compete on the world’s FlowBarrel’s has become an integral part of these Championships.
